Thank you for the kind - and thoughtful - words. Just read your comment. I've been wondering why I could not simply engage less. It's a sense of authenticity, also in the behind-the-scenes pictures of scientists on the couch (which I also used to like), that increasingly got lost for me. But that's not the full story, I suppose. The whole dynamics of online life, and what estranged me from it, is still brewing in the back of my mind here and there, and your comment stirred it in new directions again. Thanks!
